These are fascinating and colorful rock formations created here by emerald green, sparkling streams: The Garnitzenklamm is one of the longest gorges in Austria, a place
to recharge your batteries. Many forces have contributed to the formation of the gorge and this landscape. Those who
join our hiking guide on the 6.6 km circular hike will
learn a lot about the power of water, how it has carved its way through the rock over thousands of years
and how the rocks themselves have influenced the formation of the gorge.

E-bike tour to the Egger Alm stop at the Egger Alm possible
DISTANCE: 45 km ASCENT: approx. 1,050 m DURATION: approx. 6 hours

PARTICIPANTS: Minimum 4 people
This challenging bike tour for advanced riders starts in Tröpolach. From here, we take the leisurely
R3 cycle path towards Hermagor to the Garnitzenklamm gorge. This is where the challenging ascent of
630 m begins along the Eggeralmstraße road up to 1,420 m. Once we arrive at the idyllic alpine village of Egger Alm,
we take a well-deserved break and enjoy the mountain air. After the break, we continue to the Dellacher
Alm and back towards the valley (580 metres of altitude difference) via an action-packed forest descent. Along the Gail, we
finally cycle leisurely back to our starting point in Tröpolach.
EQUIPMENT: Warm clothing depending on the weather!

GEOTRAIL HIKE KRONALM
MEETING POINT: 9:30 a.m. Nassfeld state border (Hotel Berghof)
DURATION: approx. 5 hours

Discover traces of times long past along the Geotrail on former sea beds: that's what the
Kronalm hike promises. Around 300 million years ago, the Nassfeld region was located in the uninterrupted coastal area of a sea. Fossil-rich limestone formed in the shallow water, while rivers deposited sand and gravel near the coast, which solidified over time. Due to fluctuations in sea level,
there was an alternating sequence of the aforementioned rocks around the Auernig. It reaches a thickness of 600
- 800 m and is known as the Auernig Formation. Its numerous fossilized sea creatures and rocks
can be explored along the Geotrail. The best way to do this is with our hiking guide Georg.
He sets off from the Nassfeld/Italy border towards the Garnitzenalm and on to
the Garnitzenberg (1,960 m). From here, you walk from the Kronalm via the Ofen- and Auernigalm back
to the Nassfeld Pass. After the tour, there is the opportunity to stop off at our Italian neighbors.

sea of lights on the surrounding mountain peaks. Unforgettable moments are guaranteed!

We climb the rock secured by a top rope, accompanied by an experienced climbing guide. There is also a short via ferrata to conquer, and then we abseil back down. For the brave, there is also the cable car ride directly over the waterfall.

We ride along the bike path and the first part of our tour takes us through a small forest
towards Hermagor. Once there, we make a short detour into town, but there is no time to relax, as we continue straight on towards Guggenberg. We then ride to Kreuth (a small mountain village) above Rattendorf. The way back takes us along the road to our starting point.

In the past, people were smuggled across the border on foot in summer and winter, in wind and weather, and mostly at night. Today, our mountain guides lead hiking groups along the
old paths between Austria and Italy. The tour takes you along varied paths, through a
larch forest and a beautiful high plateau to the Winkelalm and back to the state border.

This challenging bike tour for advanced riders starts in Tröpolach. From here, we take the leisurely
R3 cycle path towards Hermagor to the Garnitzenklamm gorge. This is where the challenging ascent of
630 m begins along the Eggeralmstraße road up to 1,420 m. Once we arrive at the idyllic alpine village of Egger Alm,
we take a well-deserved break and enjoy the mountain air. After the break, we continue to the Dellacher
Alm and back towards the valley (580 metres of altitude difference) via an action-packed forest descent. Along the Gail, we
finally cycle leisurely back to our starting point in Tröpolach.

GEOTRAIL HIKE KRONALM

Discover traces of times long past along the Geotrail on former sea beds: that's what the
Kronalm hike promises. Around 300 million years ago, the Nassfeld region was located in the uninterrupted coastal area of a sea. Fossil-rich limestone formed in the shallow water, while rivers deposited sand and gravel near the coast, which solidified over time. Due to fluctuations in sea level,
there was an alternating sequence of the aforementioned rocks around the Auernig. It reaches a thickness of 600
- 800 m and is known as the Auernig Formation. Its numerous fossilized sea creatures and rocks
can be explored along the Geotrail. The best way to do this is with our hiking guide Georg.
He sets off from the Nassfeld/Italy border towards the Garnitzenalm and on to
the Garnitzenberg (1,960 m). From here, you walk from the Kronalm via the Ofen- and Auernigalm back
to the Nassfeld Pass. After the tour, there is the opportunity to stop off at our Italian neighbors.

Garnitzenklamm hike
MEETING POINT: 10:00 a.m. at the entrance to Garnitzenklamm gorge

These are fascinating and colorful rock formations created here by emerald green, sparkling streams: The Garnitzenklamm is one of the longest gorges in Austria, a place
to recharge your batteries. Many forces have contributed to the formation of the gorge and this landscape. Those who
join our hiking guide on the 6.6 km circular hike will
learn a lot about the power of water, how it has carved its way through the rock over thousands of years
and how the rocks themselves have influenced the formation of the gorge.
EQUIPMENT: Weather-appropriate hiking clothing, hiking boots, weather protection,
sun protection, backpack with snacks and drinks!
COST: €15.00 per person for the hike, FREE with the +CARD holiday
