At the cheese market, you will see how cheeses are traded according to age-old traditions. From setting and judging the cheeses to price negotiations and weighing them.
Around the market, there are many stalls selling Dutch delicacies like poffertjes, herring, stroopwafel. Of course, you will also find all kinds of cheeses in various sizes and flavours.
The cheese market is a free event that takes place every Friday until 26 September.
Climbing the Jan van Speijk lighthouse in Egmond aan Zee
Every Friday evening in July and August, you can climb the 28m-high Egmond Lighthouse. The lighthouse is over 175 years old and named after one of the greatest sea heroes in history.

The Wreckwood Trunk Market
Every Sunday in the months of July and August, until 31 August 2025.
At the market, second-hand goods are offered for sale from a car, a cargo bike or display alongside the car by anyone who wishes to do so.
The market takes place next to the beach entrance of Camperduin (Schoorl), along the cycle path
at the foot of the sea dyke and the Hondsbossche dunes. The location offers a beautiful view of the Harger and Pettemer polder nature reserve.

Insect Path at Captain Rommel's Garden
From 20 August to 22 August 2025 between 9:30 and 13:00, all primary school age children are welcome in Captain Rommel's Garden to walk the Beast Trail and discover all kinds of critters. Really see.... just touch it.....or even just feel it! There are demonstrations with stick insects, millipedes, giant snails and learn all about wasps. There is also a butterfly stall with a butterfly tank with eggs, caterpillars, pupae and butterflies. Or do the insect bingo or one of the many other games.
