Keti Koti Venlo
On Monday, June 30 and Tuesday, July 1, 2025, Venlo opens its heart for the very first two-day Keti Koti event. A moment in which we commemorate the history of slavery and celebrate its abolition on July 1, 1863.
Through stories from our shared history, music, theatre, spoken word, rituals, and traditional snacks, we will create a meaningful space for reflection and connection.
The program, carefully curated by Cedric Kenti and Nina-Elisa Euson, will be announced soon.
June 30 from 19:30 at Maaspoort (Oude Markt 30)
July 1 from 18:00 at Café Montego Bay (Heutzstraat 34)

Saturday market
Saturday is one of the most popular days for many visitors to Venlo to visit, as that is when the traditional big weekly market takes place on the Monseigneur Nolensplein.
Classical Music in the Gardens
Subtle sounds of classical music fill the air during Classical Music in the Gardens. In a relaxed atmosphere, you wander through the 32-hectare flower and plant park with dozens of themed gardens, where youll be surprised by multiple ensembles, each with their own beautiful musical style. Classical Music in the Gardens is an event where you can enjoy refined classical concerts performed by ensembles from both the Netherlands and abroad.
On Saturday, July 5 and Sunday, July 6, a variety of concerts will take place on different stages throughout Kasteeltuinen Arcen.
Be surprised and enjoy the most beautiful classical sounds among the gardens!
Kathedraaltoren climb
Enjoy stunning views of our & city's surroundings.
You can climb the tower of St Christopher's Cathedral every first Saturday from April to October. You can do this at 1.30pm, 2.30pm and 3.30pm. You climb over 265 steps of St Christopher's Cathedral. That climb takes (there and back) about 45 minutes. Along the way, short stops are made at the concert organ, the five majestic bells and the former flat roof. Of course, at the top, the circumambulation, you will get plenty of time to feast your eyes and take great photos!

International musical star Pia Douwes, who previously impressed audiences at home and abroad in the title role, returns in this new adaptation as the ambitious, empathetic young woman who gave her heart to Emperor Franz Joseph. But who gradually succumbed to the pressures and restrictions of life at court. The musical features numerous famous songs, including Mijn leven is van mij (My Life Belongs to Me), which captures Sissis life philosophy.

In the summer of 2025, Cultuurpodium De Speelplaats invites visitors on a special musical journey.
A journey around the world the mission of the missionaries could be seen in many countries. Now, we bring this worldly music to Steyl.
Haytham Safia is a virtuoso on the Arabic lute, also known as the ud. Originally from Galilee, he has been active in the Netherlands for years, notably with the 'arabicana' group No Blues. While his foundation lies in classical Arabic music, his compositions are infused with African, blues, Balkan, and jazz influences.

The Sjoemelmert (flea market) in Roermond has been a tradition for more than 50 years. At the Sfeermarkt there are five ambience markets with live entertainment. Each week there is different entertainment. Live music, street theatre and other entertainment make the market extra lively and attractive.
Kinderplein
The Kinderplein is great for children. They can enjoy all kinds of fun attractions and activities. You will find the Children's Square in front of the church.
Charity stalls
The Sfeermarkt would like to share the success of this cosy summer market with organisations working for a good cause. Therefore, the Sfeermarkt makes two market stalls available free of charge to a good cause every week. This is how we try to make the world a little nicer together!
